Getting ready for Gatlinburg!!

Well, our trip to Gatlinburg is finally coming up, we are leaving this Friday and will be returning next Thursday. I'm so excited- it's my favorite place to go and I've started some packing, which I need to continue because we are going to have a lot of luggage. Other than that, things have been pretty uneventful around the old homestead; Shayna is growing up before my very eyes and she's soooo long. I put a pair of pants on her tonight to sleep in because it's been getting cold in her room at night and I thought they would be big because they are a size 9 months, but no, they fit perfectly. She is also going up to stage 2 foods this week because she is eating 3 jars of stage one at a time (6 jars a day total)

Before the green beans, in her chair that she can finally sit in

Random entry on my pro-life group

*This is a journal entry for my group on cafemom*

So, as you all know, I'm pro-life (duh) but I just thought I'd share what brought me to that conclusion. This time last year, I had just found out that I was pregnant (7-7-06, to be exact). DH and I were thrilled because we had been trying, and it happened pretty easily. I was pregnant within 3 months. Over the course of 9 months, I nurtured and cared for this baby that was growing and developing inside of me and I had a wonderful pregnancy, but it really made me stop and think how any woman could just go to a clinic and kill a living human being that was depending on her to do everything but that. I have always been pro-life, but I think after I had my daughter it really made me want to try to do something about it. I really had no idea how the abortion process was done or what it entailed. I was pretty naive and ignorant when it came to this, and let me tell you, ignorance is bliss. The things I have discovered about abortion sicken and disturb me to my very soul, and I believe that a lot of women who have had an abortion are the same way- ignorant and naive on what EXACTLY is done when this procedure is performed. I have read many things about how it is never really explained to a girl that is contemplating it, and she doesn't care enough to do some simple research, which is what I chose to do. I researched what the procedure entails and how many different ways it can be done. I wanted to be as educated as possible on this subject so I could back up anything a pro-choice woman says to me, especially those who try to sugarcoat the issue. I will never understand how anyone can support abortion. My daughter is now almost 5 months old and when she smiles or laughs it just melts my heart and I can't fathom why any peson would want to throw that away. With that being said, I proudly declare that yes, I am pro-life- if you don't like it, oh well tough crap- build a bridge and get over it!

man is it hot!!

So, last night my a/c decided it was going to have a mind of it's own and just stop working. We are in the middle of an extreme heatwave with very high humidity and heat indexes of 106- 109 degrees, not to mention that we live in a trailer, a.k.a. a metal box that gets very hot without air. David was at work and couldn't get anyone to come in for him so he could home and try to fix it, so he called Big Dave, and when he was looking at it, he discovered that a fuse was blown so he put a new one in and presto, I had a/c again. Well, until around 5:00 this morning that is, when I woke up and discovered that it had quit working yet again. So we called a repair man and thank heaven he was able to get here on the same day. Turns out, that something had short-circuited and blew a transformer, so it has been running fine all day now. Well, you would think that it would end there right? Wrong- in the process of trying to get the a/c working last night, something happened and our big screen stopped working so we had to have a new one delivered today to replace ours, does it never end? We are leaving for vacation in 17 days, and are running short of the amount of money that we wanted to have to take with us, it's going to really tight until then. On a lighter note, Shayna has really started to develop quite a personality and little miss thing lets you know when she is mad. She is trying to crawl and gets very mad when she can't actually get anywhere so we bought her a walker and she's on the move now. Wow, it's only 11:14pm and I'm utterly exhausted. I think I'm going to turn in early tonight.
