Peace on Earth December Challenge

Amongst my never ending challenge of become a better Christian woman, I have stumbled upon this lady named Courtney Joseph who was featured on the Rachel Ray Show. She is such an inspiration to me, and she has this challenge on her blog where you can link up with it. She will give everyone who is interested, things to do on a weekly basis so we don't get all wrapped up with the craziness that can happen in December, and we stay focused on what the real reason for the season is. The first thing I should do is to write this passage on my calendar.

I Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

So many things

Well, here I am again, returning to this blog as an outlet for my praises, frustrations, and daily life. I really need to start doing this more often, rather than once a year or so, and after the hassle I just had trying to sign in, I am going to make sure that this stays one of my goals. Seriously, it was like Fort Knox trying to get back in here.

So, the last time I was here, Shayna was just about to turn three, and we had been living in our freshly remodeled house for all of three months. A lot has transpired since then, including my my top goal of being a better Christian and following God's word to the best of my ability. I still have a lot to learn, but I am reading my Bible a lot, and am gaining so much from it.

Times are pretty tough for us right now, financially speaking, and as if that weren't bad enough, our truck decided to start having issues today where it's still getting power after the engine is shut off, thus draining the battery. Lovely, right? Yeah, especially since we now have to rely on our tiny Hyundai, which is not only a very cozy little car, but it's not in the best shape either. It seems like everything hits us all at once, and it's always when the money isn't coming in at David's work.

I am trying to best to keep a positive outlook on this. I do not complain or make negative statuses about it on Facebook because I don't like negativity. In fact, I have cut several people out of my life who were toxic and very negative. It's not good for me, and it doesn't help with my aforementioned goal of being a better Christian and a Godly woman. Only one person knows about this situation, and she knows who she is. She is a fantastic, positive, and understanding woman who happens to share a love of the Lord with me.

My life could be much worse right now, but I am thankful for what I do have- a wonderful husband, a nice home, beautiful daughter, a country life, and my family and friends, amongst many things.

Shayna is now almost 4-years-old, and is thriving in her first year at a Christian preschool. It's so amazing to hear about the things she learns on a daily basis, complete with Jesus teachings.

Here are some pics from her very first day of preschool back in September:

Mommy's Little Helper

Shayna is at a stage where she has to help me with everything, and her favorite is unloading/loading the dishwasher. As much as I love the fact she want to "help" me with every little thing, sometimes it would just be easier to do it myself and get it done. I try to sneak and put things away fast, but the little booger always catches me doing her job, lol. Oh well, I still find it incredibly cute.
