Random entry on my pro-life group

*This is a journal entry for my group on cafemom*

So, as you all know, I'm pro-life (duh) but I just thought I'd share what brought me to that conclusion. This time last year, I had just found out that I was pregnant (7-7-06, to be exact). DH and I were thrilled because we had been trying, and it happened pretty easily. I was pregnant within 3 months. Over the course of 9 months, I nurtured and cared for this baby that was growing and developing inside of me and I had a wonderful pregnancy, but it really made me stop and think how any woman could just go to a clinic and kill a living human being that was depending on her to do everything but that. I have always been pro-life, but I think after I had my daughter it really made me want to try to do something about it. I really had no idea how the abortion process was done or what it entailed. I was pretty naive and ignorant when it came to this, and let me tell you, ignorance is bliss. The things I have discovered about abortion sicken and disturb me to my very soul, and I believe that a lot of women who have had an abortion are the same way- ignorant and naive on what EXACTLY is done when this procedure is performed. I have read many things about how it is never really explained to a girl that is contemplating it, and she doesn't care enough to do some simple research, which is what I chose to do. I researched what the procedure entails and how many different ways it can be done. I wanted to be as educated as possible on this subject so I could back up anything a pro-choice woman says to me, especially those who try to sugarcoat the issue. I will never understand how anyone can support abortion. My daughter is now almost 5 months old and when she smiles or laughs it just melts my heart and I can't fathom why any peson would want to throw that away. With that being said, I proudly declare that yes, I am pro-life- if you don't like it, oh well tough crap- build a bridge and get over it!
